The North Course on The Food Farm
Event description
We're a 16 acre small farm who grow most of our own food organically, using Permaculture principles . We have two food forests, annual beds, an orchard and a berry house.
We raise sheep, milking cows, laying hens, meat birds, ducks and bees. Angela writes a regular column in On The Land magazine (formerly Lifestyle Block), and Nick helps other people establish their own food farm, whatever the size.
You can follow our adventures on Instagram (@thefoodfarmnz) or www.thefoodfarm.nz
This event is part of a month long celebration of North Canterbury food, called The North Course.
This event is a tour which will cover the whole farm and include time to ask any food growing questions you might have. There will be some takeaway notes on establishing a new garden bed and how to start a food forest.
The tour will finish by 12 noon, plenty of time for you to explore many of the establishments offering North Course dishes for lunch.
