Description
The Nundle Honky Tonk
Hosted by Liam Kennedy-Clark
The Nundle Honky Tonk returns to the Tamworth Country Music Festival with a night of classic country hits performed by a band that knows exactly how this music should sound.
Led by Liam Kennedy-Clark and backed by some of Australia's finest country musicians, this one-night-only show features the songs that filled dance halls, country pubs and jukeboxes throughout the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s. From Merle Haggard, George Jones, Ray Price and Buck Owens through to Rodney Crowell, Brooks & Dunn and more, The Nundle Honky Tonk is packed with the songs country music fans know, love and still sing along to today.
This isn't a songwriter round, an album launch or a tribute show. It's a great country band playing great country songs. Steel guitar, fiddle, piano, shuffle beats and hit after hit from an era when country music was built on strong songs, strong singers and great bands.
While these artists remain some of the most influential names in country music, opportunities to hear this music performed live have become increasingly rare. The Nundle Honky Tonk brings it back to centre stage for one night only in the historic Nundle Memorial Hall.
With seating throughout the hall, room for dancing and a licensed bar operated by Nundle's iconic Peel Inn, audiences can enjoy the evening however they choose.
If you miss hearing classic country music played the way it was meant to be played, The Nundle Honky Tonk is your kind of night.
