The Obscure: Whisky Three Ways (Exclusive!)

Women Who Whiskey Los Angeles is thrilled to invite you to an exclusive evening of whiskey, cocktails, storytelling, and immersive experience on Wednesday, September 18 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the fantastic space that is The Obscure Distillery & Cocktail Experience in the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles. 

Our hosts Head Distiller Theron Regnier and Beverage Director Hope Ewing have designed a bespoke rye focused experience for our group!

Our evening timeline:

6:30 - 7:00 p.m. Guests gather for pre-cocktail tea and beignets on The Rising Sun outdoor patio.

7:00 p.m. Guests are invited into the stunning Midnight Garden bar for a 90 minute customized tasting of three unique spirits created by Head Distiller Theron and three mini-cocktails created by Beverage Director Hope including a unique pre-maturation spirit and a special whisky matured in 100% American chestnut wood – the only whisky of its kind to be made in over 100 years!

Whiskey history and storytelling will be woven throughout the tasting, which will feature:

• Argos White Rye Spirit paired with an Aphros Sour: Argos white rye spirit, maraschino, aquafaba, lemon juice, sugar
• Seven Spheres Rye paired with a Vesica Piscis: Seven Spheres Rye, sweet vermouth, Orleans bitters
• Rites of Fall Rye paired with a Metempsychosis: Rites of Fall chestnut whisky, sherry, apricot liqueur, saffron tincture

Guests will be able to ask questions after the tasting.

8:30 p.m. The bar opens for member hours, during which guests can purchase additional drinks and food.

THE OBSCURE

"This project was founded in March of 2020 by a team of out-of-work creatives, bound together by a love of spirits, cocktails, art, and storytelling; looking to create a better reality than what we kept finding outside. Since opening our doors in 2021, we’ve welcomed over 30,000 people through our unique guided spirits and cocktail tastings experiences."

PLEASE NOTE: We encourage everyone to arrive by 7:00 p.m. to fully experience this amazing evening. The Obscure typically doesn't admit latecomers but because this is a private event, latecomers will be admitted.

Parking:  Street parking is free and a paid lot sits adjacent to The Obscure. There is also a paid parking structure one block away in the 'At Mateo' complex. Uber/Lyft or other rideshare options are highly recommended. 
Note: Studio productions are a regular part of Arts District life and they frequently close streets and/or parking lots for filming.
