Auckland Transport: The Parking Debate: Can Auckland get it right?

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Auckland Transport is seeking public feedback on its draft Parking Strategy during April 2022. During this time, it is important that we hear from a broad range of perspectives on the subject as it affects all Aucklanders. This event will provide a forum to discuss the public policy considerations in managing city transport growth, by drawing on academic, local and international experience to help explain the importance of effective parking management for the future. This event is intended to help Aucklanders understand how the principles and policies in the draft Parking Strategy will translate into on the ground outcomes which affect their daily lives.

The panel will feature a discussion with eminent voices in the parking conversation: Tim Welch - Senior Lecturer of Architecture and Planning at Auckland University, Steven Burgess - the Australian Director of Complete Streets, Angela Dalton - the Ward Councillor for Manurewa-Papakura, and Jenny Chetwynd - Executive General Manager Planning and Investment at Auckland Transport.
