The healing path has a trajectory. Gabrielle Roth called this, The Path of The Wounded Healer. It is here that we look closely at our healing process. We mark both where we are and where we want to be. We dance through the Aive stages of healing in relationship to being the, victim, the survivor, the healer, the transformer and eventually the one who rests in compassionate service.

In the Heartbeat Map, we investigate what is moving through the shores of the heart. Through understanding the relationship of the emotional polarities we come to respect and appreciate what we have been through. Without fear, we do not experience courage. Without anger, there is no access to forgiveness. Without love, we cannot experience grief. Without, loss we cannot experience or appreciate the full spectrum of joy. Without all of these qualities, we cannot know the true nature of compassion.

It is my belief that our sacred task in life, is to transform the most difficult things we have been through, into our greatest strengths. These are the stories of our resiliency, vulnerability and strength. It is here we expand the potential to love and be loved.

You are invited to join this journey of movement and awareness, focused on how emotions transform the heart. This map is Gabrielle Roth’s living wisdom. I am here to pass this gift on to you to be carried in your own bones and blood.

Each session will be primarily focused on the 5Rhythms® moving meditation. We will integrate each movement session with stillness meditation practices, focused on the (brahma Vihārā) Buddhist Heart Practices; equanimity, compassion, loving-kindness and joy.

In sitting meditation, we have the opportunity to observe the mind and body at rest through silent introspection. In 5Rhythms, we engage in mindfulness while in motion. The two polarities of moving and sitting meditation together mirror the dance of life and support cultivation of well-being and balance.

All workshop hours contribute to 5Rhythms® teacher training prerequisites. This workshop is designed for everyone, of every age, and shape.

**NB this is a full immersion and there will be no open dance on Friday. This is deep transformative work and there is a need to create a strong container and begin the work altogether.

Bio:

Lucia Horan was born and raised in the Esalen community and is a leader, wife, and mother. She has been teaching since 1998. Lucia received lifelong direct training with Gabrielle Roth in the 5Rhythms® method. She is formally empowered to teach Buddha dharma in all capacities. She is a certified Trauma Sensitive Mindfulness teacher. Her unique perspectives on insight have been published in the book Dancing with Dharma: Essays on Movement And Dance in Western Buddhism. Additionally, Lucia is a somatic educator for Tony Robbins Life Wealth Master, PepsiCo Latin America DEI dept, and GoogleX Moonshot Factory. She co-teaches focus groups in Buddhist meditation, emotional intelligence, grief work, and women’s empowerment.

Urban Waves 5Rhythms with Sue Andersen is thrilled to be producing Lucia Horan in her first Australian tour. Her first port of call is Sydney in November, followed by Melbourne the first weekend of last weekend of Nov. Colleagues David and Meredith from Moving Essence is producing Lucia in Melbourne.
