    Event description

Located in the heart of Melbourne’s Biomedical Precinct, the Doherty Institute is named in honour of its patron Laureate Professor Peter Doherty, winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize for discovering how the immune system recognises virus-infected cells. Come and see inside the institute that was at the forefront of the COVID-19 response, and hear from public health experts and researchers about how they prevent and prepare for infectious disease threats.

    Please note:

Enter via the ground floor reception at the Doherty Institute. No photography or food and drink allowed inside laboratory spaces.
