One of Marnong’s favourite family days is back.
Spend Sunday at Marnong Estate, where adorable animals, live music, great food and panoramic views come together for a family day out worth putting in the calendar.
For one special day this October, The Petting Zoo returns to Marnong Estate, giving little animal lovers the chance to get up close, explore and make some very special memories.
Pat the bunnies, feed the goats and chickens, meet the sheep, explore the bird aviary, enjoy a reptile encounter and see camels, alpacas, ostriches, cows and Marnong Estate’s much-loved Highland cows.
Our experienced Pet Attendants will be onsite throughout the event to guide animal interactions and help create a safe and enjoyable experience for both guests and animals.
And the fun doesn’t stop when your Petting Zoo session ends.
Bring a picnic blanket, find your place on the lawn and enjoy live music by REwind Lane from 11am–4pm, then stay for coffee, lunch, wine and a relaxed afternoon at Marnong.

Every $30 adult ticket includes a $10 food and beverage voucher to enjoy during your day at Marnong Estate.
Your voucher can be redeemed at Vista or our outdoor food and beverage stations on the day of the event and must be used in a single transaction.

Petting Zoo Session Times
To keep the experience comfortable and enjoyable for our guests and animals, the Petting Zoo operates across three sessions with strictly limited capacity.
Choose from:
Session 1: 11:00am–12:30pm
Session 2: 11:45am–1:15pm
Session 3: 12:30pm–2:00pm
Please choose your session carefully before booking.
Your ticket is valid only for the session selected at the time of booking.
Bookings cannot be transferred between sessions once completed. If your booking is eligible for a refund under our refund policy, you may cancel your existing booking and purchase another available session.
Once a session reaches capacity, no additional tickets can be released or allocated, including at the gate.
Entry to the Petting Zoo is only available during your allocated session, and guests will be asked to leave the Petting Zoo area when their session finishes.
You are very welcome to arrive earlier and stay afterwards to enjoy the wider Marnong Estate.
Ticket Information
Adults — 12+ years | $30
Includes a $10 food and beverage voucher for use at Vista or our outdoor food and beverage stations on the day.
Children — 3–11 years | $10
Children — 2 years and under | FREE
No ticket is required.
All children must be accompanied by a ticketed parent or guardian at all times.
A maximum of 15 tickets can be purchased per transaction.
All tickets must be booked online in advance.
There will be no gate sales or entry without a valid ticket.
Sessions have limited capacity and this event reaches capacity each year, so we recommend booking early if you have a preferred session.
Booking Children’s Tickets
Booking for children? Humanitix will display children's tickets after you have selected your adult tickets.
Simply:
Select the number of Adult Tickets required for your preferred session.
Click Continue.
Select the number of Children’s Tickets required on the following screen.
Check that everyone in your group who requires a ticket has been included before completing your booking.
Children must attend the same session as their accompanying parent or guardian.
Camel & Pony Rides
Want to add another little adventure to their day?
Camel and pony rides will be available inside the Petting Zoo area during the event.
As the rides are located within the ticketed area, they are only available to guests holding a valid Petting Zoo ticket for their booked session.
Camel rides: $10 per person, per ride
Pony rides: $5 per person, per ride
Please note:
Rides are not included in Petting Zoo admission.
EFTPOS payment will be available on the day.
Riders must meet applicable safety and suitability requirements.
Rides are subject to animal welfare and operating conditions.
Rides can only be accessed during your allocated Petting Zoo session.
If you do not hold a valid Petting Zoo ticket, you will not be able to access the camel or pony rides.

Planning Your Visit
Check-in opens from 10:00am via The Woolshed.
To help make your day as easy as possible:
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your allocated Petting Zoo session.
Bring a picnic blanket if you would like to relax on the lawn.
Dress appropriately for the weather.
Marnong Estate is a fully licensed venue.
Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
Pets are not permitted.
Ball games are not permitted.
Dining bookings are recommended if you plan to stay for lunch.
FAQs
- Can I change my Petting Zoo session after booking?
Unfortunately, bookings cannot be transferred between sessions. Each session has a strict capacity, so please check your selected time carefully before completing your purchase.
If your booking is eligible for a refund under our refund policy, you may cancel your booking and purchase tickets for another session, subject to availability.
- What happens if my preferred session is sold out?
Once a session reaches capacity, no additional tickets can be released or allocated. We cannot provide additional tickets online or at the gate.
- Can I buy tickets when I arrive?
No. All Petting Zoo tickets must be purchased online in advance. There are no gate sales.
- How do I purchase a children's ticket?
Select your adult tickets first and click Continue. Children's tickets will then appear on the following booking screen.
- What happens if it rains?
The Petting Zoo will proceed in wet weather.
Melbourne weather can be unpredictable, so please check the forecast before you leave and come prepared for the conditions. If rain is expected, we recommend bringing a raincoat, umbrella and suitable footwear so you can comfortably enjoy your day at Marnong Estate.
Refunds will not be issued due to rain or wet weather.
- Do young children need a ticket?
Children aged 2 years and under are free and do not require a ticket. Children aged 3–11 require a children's ticket.
- Can we arrive before our session?
Yes. Check-in opens from 10am, and you can check in at any time before your allocated session.
As this is a major event, we strongly recommend arriving 30–60 minutes before your session. Please allow plenty of time to park your car, walk to the check-in point and make your way to the Petting Zoo entrance.
Arriving early means you can check in, get settled and enjoy Marnong Estate without feeling rushed before your session begins.
Please note that while you are welcome to arrive and check in early, entry to the Petting Zoo is only permitted from the start time of your booked session. Early entry cannot be accommodated.
- Can we stay after our Petting Zoo session?
Yes. While you will need to leave the Petting Zoo area at the end of your allocated session, you are welcome to stay and enjoy the wider estate, including live music on the lawn until 4pm.
- Are camel and pony rides included in my ticket?
No. Camel and pony rides are an additional cost and can be paid for by EFTPOS on the day.
They are located inside the ticketed Petting Zoo area, so you must hold a valid Petting Zoo ticket to access them.
- Can I bring my own food or drinks?
No outside food or beverages are permitted. Food and beverage options will be available throughout Marnong Estate.

Refund requests made within 7 days of the event are not eligible for a refund.
Tickets cannot be transferred to another Marnong Estate event, date or workshop. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member to attend in your place.
