The Plastic Country Film Screening: Sea Shepherd Newcastle
Description
Join us at The Base in Newcastle West for a free community screening of The Plastic Country, a powerful Australian feature documentary about plastic pollution and our health.
Filmed over two years across the country, from East Arnhem Land to Parliament House, the film follows ocean advocate and former water polo athlete Kal Glanznig. Alarmed to discover high levels of plastic-associated chemicals in his own body, Kal sets out to understand how plastic has moved from our environment into our bodies, and uncovers the solutions already underway.
Featuring an Academy Award-winning sound team and an original soundtrack by First Nations band King Stingray, The Plastic Country is an eye-opening and hopeful film about one of the biggest environmental and health challenges of our time.
This screening is hosted by Sea Shepherd Newcastle. On the night, you’ll have the chance to learn more about Sea Shepherd’s work protecting our oceans and how you can support them.
