Black Fig Gallery is proud to announce the first ever Plateau Art Prize. This year's theme: Familiar & Strange invites artists to explore the tension between the known and the unknown, the comforting and the unsettling and to uncover beauty in unexpected places. Beauty that unsettles or beauty that's overlooked. Beauty that makes us question what beautiful means at all. Finding juxtaposed points of interest.
Prize Pool: $2,000
$1,000 Major Prize - by Judges
$500 Curator's Choice - by Galleriest and team
$250 People's Choice - Community Votes
$250 Emerging /Encouragement Award - by Judges
Other Inclusions:
Major and People's Choice winners receive a paired exhibition spot at Black Fig Gallery- all fees covered.

Entry Fee: $40 general / $25 concession
Open to all mediums, art types, within 60 x 60cm
Judged by Galleriest + Guest Judges
People's Choice awarded via in-gallery voting throughout exhibition
Entries Open: August 31st 2025
Entries Close: October 8th 11.59pm 2025
Exhibition Runs November 1st - 29th 2025.
Opening Event Saturday 1st November 1-4pm.
