The Politics of Water: A Human Rights Perspective
Event description
Please join the Centre for Health in All Policies Research Translation (CHiAPRT), the International Water Association, Water Research Australia, and Public Health SA Health for the sixth In Conversation Round Table: The Politics of Water: A Human Rights Perspective.
The In Conversation Webinar will explore water and its critical role in human and planetary health. Water is fundamental to all life on earth and underpins all human activity. The issue of access to water is political, with UN agencies calling on all governments to take a human rights-based approach and to ensure no one is left behind. In Australia, most people have good access to water but there are many remote communities where access to safe water is limited. Join us for a stimulating exploration of The Politics of Water.
David Cunliffe, the Principal Water Quality Advisor at Public Health SA Health, Tom Mollenkopf, the President of the International Water Association, Sarah Ransom, a General Manager at the Australian Water Partnership, and Karen Rouse, the Chief Executive Officer at Water Research Australia, will be speakers at this session, and will discuss topics of focus such as 'Why Water Matters: a brief history of global and local issues', 'Local and Global Solutions', and 'Water issues in the Indo-Pacific: a Human Rights Perspective'.
Register to join the webinar on 3.00-4.30 ACST Wednesday 10 April.
