Black Swan State Theatre Company presents
The Pool
by Steve Rodgers
THEATRE YOU CAN BRING A TOWEL TO.
Following a sell-out Perth season in 2024, The Pool tours regional WA in 2026!
Sit poolside and listen in on the lives of the people who call the local pool their second home. Through your own personal headset, immerse yourself in their stories, and watch their world unfold in front of you.
A mother tries to mend her fractured relationship with her grown-up daughter.
Two teenagers hide behind a white lie to find time alone.
The manager scrambles to cover up a messy mistake.
Bombies in the deep end while the lifeguard isn’t looking, water aerobics classes, hot chips and choc milk, The Pool is an exploration of life as we know it and a celebration of our public spaces that create community. This is theatre like you’ve never seen – or heard! – before.

Actors chat intimately near the shallow end… pre-recorded monologues… chorus choreographed swimmers… sound seamless… audience invited to jump in for aqua‑aerobics finale.
