    Event description

    Kia ora dear woman,

You are invited to join us in the Red Tent on Sunday 19th Feb from 3-6pm for our first Red Tent circle of the year with special guest speaker-

    Leigh Townsend.

Leigh will be presenting on The Power Of Embodiment.

Learn what embodiment - the act of living and breathing from within the physical body - can do for you, your ability to direct how and where you spend your energy, to self heal, to get unstuck, to build your dreams.

Feel the energy connected to your thoughts that unconsciously and consciously demand of your attention.

Experience the freedom that comes from mastering your energy flow and releasing the physical hold thoughts and unresolved emotions have on your body and psyche.

Our events are held at a unique and stunning location in Tai Tapu, 5 minutes from Halswell.

You will be emailed the address 24 hours before the circle.

Leigh Townsend is a passionate advocate of self healing through attuning the thinking mind to the energy of the body and utilising the breath to create a powerful re-connection to self.

Fusing twenty years experience working with the human body as an Osteopath and Masseuse, a passion for bio-energetic medicine and a dedication to Naam yoga, Leigh has fine-tuned her gift that ignites the untapped potential we all have for thriving: living, healing and growing through creation of an abundant, love-infused and joyful life.

    Your host:

Jill Genet is a vibrant, highly skilled facilitator.

She is a colourful change maker and visionary, with a strong passion for connecting women to make their dreams come true.

She has the life path of the Spiritual Messenger and has taken on the role of gathering the tribe.

With over 27 years experience in running women’s circles and qualifications in Counselling, Compassionate Communication, Red Tent Facilitation & Yoga Teaching her goal is to educate, awaken and enlighten women to their power, strength and natural gifts.

Her mission is to support women in opening and running Red Tents in every neighbourhood, all over Australia and Aotearoa.

The Red Tent movement is a worldwide one and is needed now more than ever as women awaken to their purpose and power.

It is essential for the growth of our civilization that women always have a circle of support around them to grow and strengthen our culture and nurture the future.

In our society today there is no formal acknowledgment or recognition of the Feminine Divinity. It is still thought to be an “underground” or “alternative” movement, somewhat threatening to the mainstream.

Jill wants to break down the falsehoods & illusions that are too often found in our culture and bring healing into the light. She sees one way of doing this by training women in Non-Violent Communication/Compassionate Communication to experience the ripple effect on their families and humanity at large.

She trains women from all walks of life and age groups to lead Red Tents under the banner of Red Tent Australia and Red Tent Aotearoa, a Community Enterprise Movement that she began in 2013. Jill wants everyone to know that belonging to a community should not be about conforming or giving away your power. It should be about becoming a purposeful being who is able to encourage and nurture others while receiving support and compassion yourself.

Jill believes that competition is obsolete and the only way forward is collaboration. Red Tent Australia is built on the model of Sacred Commerce; where the number of others you help succeed measures your success.

Asking for help and being open to receiving it are the biggest lessons Jill hopes to impart on women, along with a deep knowing that you are never alone!

She thinks that by remembering and harnessing our ancestral wisdom, re-introducing the old ways of nature is the only way forth. Along with removing the self-imposed “masks” that are firmly in place in society, we can all start to work towards healing the earth via healing ourselves.

    About Red Tent Aotearoa.
    "What women want is CONNECTION.
Not on a superficial level, but a REAL connection and support."

The Red Tent is a place for women to feel that connection and to offer and receive that support.

We want to help women to free themselves from the isolation of today’s modern world and find their tribe.
Red Tent Aotearoa has the aim to connect, collaborate, and create a community of strong and educated women in a supportive & nurturing environment.

We establish community networks and support between women by hosting local gatherings, and events in what we call “Red Tents.”

Red Tent Aotearoa is not religious, and we invite anyone who identifies as female from 11 years + from all walks of life.

    FAQ:
What is the Red Tent and what do you do there?

The Red Tent movement is worldwide and stemmed from the book The Red Tent written by Anita Diamant.

Red Tents are spaces created by women, for women to come each month and share their stories, relax, feel nurtured, seen, and heard.

There is nothing required of you and the main goal is for you to relax, recharge and reset.

Each month at Red Tent Aotearoa is different, we invite a different woman to share her experience and interest with us so that we all can learn and become more confident. Some of our themes in the past have been; The Power of Pleasure, The Power of Identity, The Power of the Spoken Word, The Power of Positive Touch, and The Power of Humility. Our belief is that 'Power-with' instead of 'Power-over' will change the world.

Who is the host and why does she do this?
Jill Genet is the founder of Red Tent Aotearoa and Red Tent Australia.

Jill is a community-focused change-maker with a devotion to non-profit organisations and a passion for non-violent communication.

She has dedicated the last 9 years of her life to starting, growing, and sharing Red Tent Australia and now Red Tent Aotearoa as an organisation that helps start and support the birthing of Red Tent circles all over the country.

Jill believes in the power of Red Tent circles to heal the women of the world and in doing so the ripple effect will be felt across the globe.
