Who was I before Red Tent?

I was searching, seeking, flailing in my puddle of purpose with no direct outlet for the wisdom and learnings that were (and still are!) rising within me. I would impart my stories and revelations to anyone, men and women, who would listen.

How has the Red Tent changed your life? It has offered me a safety net, a sacred container in which to find my soul song. It has enabled me to align and connect with other women on their journey, as we all walk each other home.

Who am I outside of the Red Tent?

A permaculturist with a passion for natural building and a love for kirtan. I'm a child of the 80s, a conscious consumer, a warrior of the rainbow, a creative, an artist, a hippie, an avid upcycler with a deep love for Mother Earth and all her creation.

My intention for holding this circle is to explore the wisdom and possibility offered through the lens of Menstrual Cycle Awareness (MCA) sharing the gifts of what this spiRitual practice has brought into my life since I began learning, understanding, and embodying this practice over 3 years ago.

About Red Tent Aotearoa-

"What women want is CONNECTION.
Not on a superficial level, but a REAL connection and support." ~
Jill Natalia (RTA founder)

The Red Tent is a place for women to feel that connection and to offer and receive that support.
We want to help women to free themselves from the isolation of today’s modern world and find their tribe.

Red Tent Aotearoa has the aim to connect, collaborate, and create a community of strong and educated women in a supportive & nurturing environment.
We establish community networks and support between women by hosting local gatherings, and events in what we call 'Red Tents.'

Red Tent Aotearoa is not religious, and we invite anyone who identifies as female from 11 years + from all walks of life.
It’s our hope for everyone who enters each Red Tent to experience a sense of belonging, sisterhood, and strength that stays with them from then on.
Any questions please reach out to Jill: redtentaotearoa@gmail.com

FAQ:
What is the Red Tent and what do you do there?

The Red Tent movement is worldwide and stemmed from the book The Red Tent written by Anita Diamant.
Red Tents are spaces created by women, for women to come each month and share their stories, relax, feel nurtured, seen, and heard.
There is nothing required of you and the main goal is for you to relax, recharge and reset. Each month at Red Tent Aotearoa is different, we invite a different woman to share her story, experience and interest with us so that we all can learn and become more confident. Some of our themes in the past have been; The Power of Pleasure, The Power of Identity, The Power of the Spoken Word, The Power of Positive Touch, and The Power of Humility. Our belief is that 'Power-with' instead of 'Power-over' will change the world.

Who is the host and why does she do this?

We have many Red Tent Aotearoa trained facilitators across the country.

Each Red Tent is hosted by someone different.
Jill Natalia is the founder of Red Tent Aotearoa and Red Tent Australia.
She is a Holistic Counsellor and Business Mentor with Conscious Consulting NZ. Born in Ōtautahi, Christchurch, she left when she was 18 and returned 28 years later in 2020. Jill is a community-focused change-maker with a devotion to non-profit organisations and a passion for non-violent communication. She has dedicated the last 10 years of her life to starting, growing, and sharing Red Tent Australia and now Red Tent Aotearoa as an organisation that helps start and support the birthing of Red Tent circles all over the country. Jill believes in the power of Red Tent circles to heal the women of the world and in doing so the ripple effect will be felt across the globe.

What do I bring?
Please bring a snack to share, and a journal to capture aha moments and your water bottle. Some warm socks in winter and maybe even a blankie so you can be cozy. Bring an open heart and a longing for connection.
