THE PRACTICE SPACE: Grounding Reflexivity. Strengthening Practice. Sustaining Care. * NSSI Edition *
Description
Supervisor: Dr. Madeline Wishart
Madeline is a Board approved supervisor with an ongoing commitment to supervision within her own private practice. Supervision isn't just a box to tick, for some disciplines it's a formal ethical requirement tied to CPD hours, but for everyone working directly with clients, it's a genuine protective measure, for the individuals doing the work, for their clients, for the organisations that support them, and for the reputation of our professions.
There's a real richness in sharing knowledge, skills & experience with colleagues who understand the work. Supervision, whatever your discipline, is one of the most valuable spaces we have as practitioners, a chance to think out loud, learn from each other, and sharpen our practice together. The Practice Space is built for exactly that.
At its core, this is group supervision: a 90-minute, collaborative space with a different topic focus each session. It's a genuinely reflexive space, turning attention not just to the client work itself, but to how we, as practitioners, show up in it, our own reactions, assumptions & blind spots, held in a supportive, contained environment. Numbers are capped, so the space stays grounded and useful, not another webinar to sit through, but a space to explore a topic with real depth.
Our first topic is non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). We'll explore the complexity clinicians navigate when supporting clients who use self-injury to cope, and how to support the people we work with, what works, and just as importantly, what doesn't, drawing on each other's experience to build a richer, more grounded understanding of this work.
If you're after more than a passive webinar, this is your chance to drill into a topic in real depth, with direct input and guidance from Madeline herself.
BRING YOUR QUESTIONS & TRICKY CASES
After registering, email your questions or complex cases to info@madelinewishart.com.au. Complex cases deserve someone experienced in unpacking that complexity within clear ethical guidelines, that's exactly where Madeline comes in. We may not be able to cover every question or case individually, but Madeline will lead the discussion, draw on elements of what's submitted, and offer informed direction to help shape a genuinely meaningful session.

CPD Hours
This session runs as structured group supervision & case discussion among practitioners, which contributes toward your Peer Consultation and CPD hours under the Psychology Board of Australia's framework. The exact split depends on how much of the 90 minutes focuses on your own practice versus the group discussion, so we'd recommend logging your hours accordingly rather than claiming a fixed amount.
