The Psychology of Money

Exploring our relationships with other people and to ourselves is largely accepted as emotionally intelligent practice, but what about our relationship with money? Whatever our background, we are socially and culturally conditioned to attach complex biases to our financial lives and assumptions about those who have a lot of money and those who don’t.

Whether you’re struggling to get by, saving for a sustainable future, leading a purposeful organisation or investing through an impact portfolio, understanding your psychological relationship to money is critical.

The psychology of money is complex. This masterclass will explore the concept of money as an energy source and the money disorders we each bring to the table (whether we admit it out loud or not). Money disorders are persistent patterns of self-limiting financial behaviour. To free ourselves from them, we need to identify them and revise their power over us.

About our facilitators, Danny Almagor & Eleanor Gammell:

Danny Almagor is our Co-Founder and Chair. He started Small Giants with Berry Liberman (who is also his wife) to effect social and environmental change. He has founded over a dozen for profit and non profit organisations, has served on numerous boards as well as non-profit boards and advisories councils.He loves to read, talk about philosophy, garden, travel and jump on the trampoline with his three kids. 

Eleanor is our Head of Programs. With a background leading cultural programming in Sydney, Melbourne and New York, Eleanor curates our programming (gatherings, masterclasses, retreats) to connect people and bring them on a journey to the next economy. Most recently, Eleanor was the Managing Director of The School of Life Australia. She sees philosophy, culture and all forms of capital as lenses through which we can explore deeper connection in our journeys of self-awareness and impact.
