The Rainforest Meets The Reef

It starts with a campfire.

Three friends are camped out under a cloudy night sky, swapping stories in their sleeping bags. One is quick with a joke. One is a bit clumsy and always finds trouble. One knows everything there is to know about wildlife. Then they open an old storybook, and things get a bit wild.

Suddenly we’re deep in the rainforest. The canopy comes alive with creatures flying, gliding, swinging and leaping above you. Forest spirits drift overhead. Tiny caterpillars become butterflies. Bugs, birds and lizards all have somewhere to be. Then the story spills out to the coast and dives under the waves, where the reef is glowing, the currents are swirling and some very big visitors glide by.

The Rainforest Meets The Reef is our end of year show, and it’s a big one. Our students perform stunning aerials, acrobatics and circus skills, in costumes and staging that bring Far North Queensland to the stage. It’s cute, colourful and full of heart, and a great night out for the whole family.

We’ll have our sausage sizzle running on the night, with soft drinks, beer and wine, popcorn and snacks for sale. Come hungry! Every sausage helps support CYCAS Circus, not-for-profit circus school right here in Cairns.
