The Revival Project: Charm City Fringe Festival
Event description
Join the B&B Collective for an evocative performance of dance that bridges history and artistry.
We begin with a mesmerizing dance film "Veiled," co-created with Rebecca Hill exploring the duality of the vaudeville era, capturing both the despair that shadowed its performers and the fleeting moments of joy they experienced.
The second half transitions into the excerpt from “The Revival Project” a collaborative project with Hotel Revival and GRL PWR, delving into the life and legacy of Mary Elizabeth Garrett, a pivotal figure in the women's suffrage movement.
About the B&B Collective:
Under the umbrella of Beer and Ballet, The B&B Collective was created for those who have previous dance experience and crave the studio rehearsal process. This is a once-a-week rehearsal experience to learn choreography while moving with fellow retired or professional movers from the DMV area. In it’s first year of existence, the B&B Collective was invited to perform for the 2023 Peabody Dance Festival. Currently, the Collective is working on a Dance Film entitled “The Revival Project” in collaboration with Mt. Vernon’s beautiful Hotel Revival, Baltimore-based musicians GRL PWR, and several other DMV Collaborators.
