Rise of the T-People: A Future of Work Debate

IMPORTANT UPDATE: This event has been moved online in light of the COVID-19 virus, but will go ahead at the scheduled time! The event is now free to attend.

Join us for a community debate to explore skills, tools and mindsets we need to thrive in the future of work.

Should we be generalists or specialists? What are the non-negotiable skills we all need (and is coding one of them)? Will deep expertise still be valuable in the age of robots? And how do we know what we should learn next?

As the world of work changes faster than many of us can keep up with, the skills we need to succeed are changing too.

From soft skills to digital skills, enterprise skills to EQ skills and more, the breadth of skills demanded of us is ever increasing. However, the role of the specialist is also becoming increasingly valued and important.

Successful T-people are those that balancing this shift. They are the  'generalising specialists' amongst us - an expert in at least one thing, but with a broad range of capable, complementary skills.

Our expert future of work panellists from Spacecubed, Scitech, Growth Generators and Moment Design will share their insights into the key skills of the future, and debate what it means to be a T-Shaped person.
