Caroline Pidcock will share her thoughts on sustainable buildings. Caroline’s presentation will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Sydney’s Climate Action Group.

Born in Grafton, land of the Gumbainggir Nation, and raised in Sydney, land of the Eora Nation. Caroline has been shaped by their mighty water systems. She is passionate about architecture and regenerative design, and how she can joyfully co-create “socially just, culturally rich and ecologically restorative” ways of living in Australia. Her authentic interest and experience in these approaches has been developed and enhanced through her involvement in a diverse range of professional, academic and community commitments.

Caroline started her own architectural practice in 1992. In addition she is the Spokesperson for Australian Architects Declare a Climate and Biodiversity Emergency; Chair of 1 Million Women; and a member of the Beyond Zero Emissions Advisory Committee; AIA Climate Action and Sustainability Taskgroup; Sydney Olympic Park Authority Design Review Panel, Liverpool Design Excellence Panel, Northern Beaches Design + Sustainability Advisory Panel, North Sydney Council Local Planning Panel; Sacred Heart Education Ministry Board and Chair of the AIA Environment Design Guide Advisory Group. She also teaches at universities in NSW.

Caroline has been recognised for her leadership and advocacy in architecture and sustainability with the 2021 National AIA Leadership in Sustainability Award, the 2019 NSW AIA President’s Award, the 2014 International Living Future Institute’s Living Building Hero and the 2011 Marian Mahony Griffin Award.

Caroline is a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and a Registered Architect.
