This month the RST lecture will focus on the work of Professor David Bowman, which explores the science, policy, and cultural shifts needed to live safely with fire in a rapidly changing climate. At a time when Australians face increasing threats from fire, Professor Bowman will share groundbreaking research and practical insights on fire ecology, risk management, and community resilience.
Professor David Bowman is an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow and the Director of the transdisciplinary Fire Centre at the University of Tasmania, where he holds a research chair in Pyrogeography and Fire Science. David is recognised as a world leader in wildfire science and management. He is the author of many peer-reviewed articles and has contributed to Government policy.
