Description
The Safety We Cannot See explores a simple but often overlooked idea: being physically safe does not necessarily mean that a person feels safe.
Over 26 years of fostering more than 100 children, Irina Castellano has witnessed how experiences of trauma, neglect, loss and disconnection can influence behaviour, relationships, trust and a person's ability to feel safe.
Drawing on her lived experience as a foster carer and adoptive parent, alongside her professional background in developmental trauma, Community Services and Mental Health education, Irina explores three interconnected dimensions of human safety: physical, emotional and mental safety.
