The Scratch Bar Linocut with Grey Hand Press (2025 June)

The Scratch Bar will host a three-hour linocut workshop, where you will carve and print your own coaster / glass mat designs on recycled matboard. Make yourself a set of special one off coasters with your own design, to keep the beer sweat off yer good tables! Grey Hand Press will be providing all the tools, materials and instructions you need for this casual print sesh in the bar, with a custom recycled pallet wood and bottle jack press.

The blocks will be 10 x 10cm if you'd like to plan an image; we'll bring some samples. There should be enough matboard blanks to guarantee at least four matching or assorted coasters.

This time, we're taking the approach a step further and committing to waste-diverted flooring lino sourced at Reverse Garbage. This lino may hold slightly less detail but suits the quick, rough, upcycling spirit of the session and carves much faster than traditional lino products.
