The Secret Air: Harp Music from Hidden Spaces
Event description
Acclaimed as “a true master of this instrument” (Australian Stage), Hannah is one of the world’s leading historical harpists, renowned for creating immersive, intimate experiences through her deep connection to music of the past.
In The Secret Air: Harp Music from Hidden Spaces, Hannah invites audiences into a world once reserved for royalty and the elite — where music was heard not in grand halls, but in candlelit chambers and private salons. This solo program for baroque harp traces the delicate beauty and emotional depth of music composed for these secretive spaces: from the expressive intimacy of 16th-century Italian musica secreta, to the refined elegance of 17th-century English private musick.
Featuring works by Luzzaschi, Frescobaldi, Dowland, Purcell, and others, this is a rare chance to hear the harp as it once was: resonant, poetic, and quietly powerful — a voice from the past, heard anew.
Audience members are warmly invited to join Hannah for a complimentary drink after the concert.
