Event description
This July, Enchanting Productions will delight audiences with the wonderful, well known story of “The Secret Garden”, set to music by Grammy Award-winning Lucy Simon (sister of Carly Simon). This musical will capture your heart with its beautiful melodies and moving story of mystery and love.
A stunning cast has gathered for this once-in-a-lifetime season of “The Secret Garden” including renowned New York singer Madeline Bender playing Lily, Nigel Withington playing Archibald Craven, James Foster- Dr Craven, Rory Sweeney and Kimberley Wood playing Mary’s parents, Maria Morris and Zachary Pearce (both from NASDA) playing Martha and Dickon, Blair McHugh- the gardener, and Francesca Pashby- the housekeeper. Talented newcomers include Maddie Glossop and Lily Partridge as Mary, Albie Anderson and Zac Whelan as Colin, and Charis Naylor and Katya Atlas as the Readers who watch the story unfold. Ian Thomas and Sarena Harrison complete the cast with fabulous cameos.
Philip Aldridge ONZM is the Patron of Enchanting Productions, and Louise Frost Glossop, the producer, director and music director. Hillary Moulder provides exquisite choreography and Gabriel Baird, superb accompaniment on the grand piano.
Performances of “The Secret Garden- Spring Version” (90-minute family-friendly version) will run for a limited season in Christchurch Arts Centre’s Great Hall.
