The Sleep Reset
Description
THE CLEVERSLEEP - SLEEP RESET
A Full-Day Practical Sleep Workshop with Naturopathic Sleep Specialist Kirsten Taylor
Sunday 8 November 2026 | 9:00am–5:00pm | Auckland
Stop guessing about your sleep.
Kirsten Taylor has spent 23 years specialising in sleep and working with thousands of people who can't sleep.
A naturopathic sleep specialist, researcher and educator, Kirsten has spent more than two decades investigating the physical, mental, emotional and environmental factors that can prevent people from getting the sleep they need.
The CleverSleep Reset is the culmination of those 23 years and thousands of individual sleep consultations.
For one day in Auckland, Kirsten is bringing that knowledge together into a highly practical, interactive workshop designed to help you understand your own sleep, identify what's most likely getting in the way and leave knowing what to do about it.
IF YOU'VE TRIED EVERYTHING, THIS DAY IS FOR YOU
Maybe you've tried magnesium, and it didn't work.
You've wondered whether you should take melatonin — or perhaps you're already taking it and aren't sure whether it's actually right for you.
You've tried going to bed earlier. Putting your phone away. Cutting back coffee. Breathing exercises. A new pillow. Sleep apps. Supplements.
Maybe you've even been given a long list of "sleep hygiene" rules that simply don't fit your life.
And you're still awake.
The problem may not be that you haven't tried hard enough. It may be that you haven't yet identified what's actually disrupting YOUR sleep.
Poor sleep rarely has one simple explanation.
What is keeping one person awake may be completely different from what is affecting another.
And sometimes the things influencing your sleep — children, work, hormones, pain, stress, caring responsibilities, your environment — aren't things you can simply remove from your life.
You don't need another exhausting list of things you "should" be doing.
You need to understand what's relevant to your sleep, what isn't, and which changes are realistically going to make the greatest difference.
That's what we'll spend the day working out.
QUESTIONS YOU MAY FINALLY GET ANSWERS TO
Why can't I sleep when I'm exhausted?
Why can I fall asleep but not stay asleep?
Why does my brain come alive the moment my head hits the pillow?
Why do I keep waking during the night?
Why did I used to sleep normally — and now I don't?
Why did magnesium work brilliantly for someone else but do absolutely nothing for me?
We'll ask lots of pertinent questions throughout the day - like..
Should I take melatonin? Is it actually right for my particular sleep problem?
Could hormones, stress, nutrition, pain, medication or something in my environment be contributing?
What does all the information on my sleep tracker actually mean?
And if I can't change some of the circumstances affecting my sleep, what can I do to help myself sleep better anyway?
UNDERSTAND YOUR SLEEP
We begin by taking the mystery out of sleep itself.
You'll learn:
• What sleep actually is
• The major health processes influenced by sleep
• How healthy sleep architecture works
• What happens during light, deep and REM sleep
• How healthy sleep cycles across the night
• What good sleep actually looks like
• How to understand the information you're seeing on your sleep tracker
If you use an Oura Ring, Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit or another sleep tracker, bring your tracker and data with you.
The aim is to understand the patterns and to know what your data can tell you about your sleep.
THE 15 PATHWAYS & 12 BLOCKS TO SLEEP
Sleep doesn't happen in isolation.
There are multiple pathways influencing whether you can fall asleep, stay asleep and achieve healthy, restorative sleep.
Kirsten will introduce the pathways influencing sleep, the 12 main blocks that can interfere with it and what to do about bringing them back into harmony so that sleep comes without struggle.
You'll start recognising which factors may be relevant to you — and, importantly, we'll discuss what you can actually do about them.
DISCOVER WHAT'S REALLY AFFECTING YOUR SLEEP
You'll complete CleverSleep's scientifically validated Sleep Assessment Survey — a comprehensive practitioner-level assessment recently utilised in two third-party independent trials for assessing insomnia and its contributing factors.
The assessment comprises more than 80 questions and investigates potential sleep disruptors across five major areas:
Physical. Mental. Emotional. Behavioural. Environmental.
You'll have time to complete your assessment, and then Kirsten will guide the group through it.
We'll look at what healthy answers look like, what less-than-ideal responses can tell us and what patterns within your own answers may reveal.
This isn't a quiz that gives you a generic "sleep type."
It's a structured investigation into what may actually be getting between you and good sleep.
And we don't stop at identifying the problem.
We'll discuss what you can do about what you find.
BUILD A PRACTICAL SLEEP TOOLKIT
Once you understand what's influencing sleep, we turn our attention to solutions.
And this is a workshop, not simply a lecture.
You'll experience and practise techniques you can actually use, including:
• Guided breathwork
• Body and breath scanning
• Creating a wind-down routine that works in real life
• Nutrition and sleep
• Magnesium and sleep
• Melatonin
• Sleep-supporting herbs
• Practical strategies for different sleep problems
Should I take melatonin?
Melatonin is everywhere right now — but that doesn't mean everyone who isn't sleeping needs it.
We'll look at what melatonin actually does, where it may fit, timing, dosing and expectations, and the important question:
Is melatonin relevant to the reason YOU aren't sleeping?
"I've tried magnesium. It didn't work."
We'll also unpack magnesium.
Different forms, amounts and timing matter — but so does understanding what magnesium can actually support.
If the primary reason you're awake has little to do with what magnesium influences, simply taking more magnesium isn't necessarily the answer.
The goal isn't to give you more things to take or another complicated routine.
It's to help you understand which tools make sense for your particular sleep picture.
LEAVE WITH YOUR PERSONALISED SLEEP RESET PLAN
You won't spend the day learning about sleep and then be left to work out what to do with all that information yourself.
Throughout the workshop, Kirsten will guide you through a structured process to understand your sleep; you'll identify the factors most likely disrupting your sleep, and determine which strategies are most relevant to you.
Then, with Kirsten's guidance, you'll bring those findings together into your own:
PERSONALISED SLEEP RESET PLAN
By the time you leave, you'll know:
• What is most likely getting in the way of your sleep
• Which areas deserve your attention
• Which changes are most relevant to you
• What you don't need to worry about
• What to prioritise first
• The practical steps you can start taking straight away
• How to put your plan into action in your actual life
There will be time for questions throughout the day and as you develop your plan.
WHO IS THE SLEEP RESET WORKSHOP FOR?
This day is for anyone who genuinely wants to understand and improve their sleep.
You may:
• Struggle to fall asleep
• Wake repeatedly throughout the night
• Wake too early
• Have a mind that won't switch off
• Sleep for hours but still wake feeling unrefreshed
• Notice that stress or emotions affect your sleep
• Have experienced changes in sleep with age or hormones
• Wonder whether something physical is contributing
• Have environmental circumstances affecting your sleep that you can't simply change
• Use a sleep tracker but struggle to interpret the information
• Have tried magnesium, melatonin or other sleep solutions without getting the result you expected
• Feel as though you've tried everything and still don't understand what's wrong
• Or simply want to understand and optimise the quality of the sleep you're already getting
You don't need any previous knowledge about sleep.
And you don't need to arrive having done your homework.
Just bring your sleep problem. We'll work through it together.
