The idea of this concert series is to showcase our local artists in the Bega Valley and their original songs in a space that is inspirational for both artists and attendees. 

Bear Mountain is a unique scenic location overlooking Jellat Jellat in the heart of the Bega Valley. 

Every month The Songs and The Writers will feature 3 new local artists and their original songs . Previous recordings of all featured artists will be available to purchase on site digitally through either a QR code or physical record. We encourage everyone who attends the event to buy a recording (either digitally or physically) and support our local artists. 

Bring a picnic & rug and find a space on the lawn in a Covid safe and family friendly outdoor environment (free admission for kids under 12!). BYO drinks and snacks, free sausage sizzle available between 2pm and 3pm.

Chris O'Donnell 

From the legendary local lineage of the O'Donnell clan, Chris has forged his own path through the local scene for over 10 years. Writing and recording his own material consistently has yielded many songs but many remain unreleased as his craft evolves. A true showman, Chris O has entertained thousands of people at festivals, punters at the pub, and everywhere in-between.

Anactoria 

Maybe it was being born at the dawn of the 90s straight into the dead heart of low-income suburban Australia, or maybe not, but something caused Tamlyn Magee to become a constant turner-over of stones in search of lost meaning or unexpected delight. Her solo music project Anactoria is the natural extension of that tendency. Electric harpist in more ways than one, Anactoria commits and re-commits to finding present-moment magic on stage, and with Samwise Seidel sonically supporting, the search itself is worth a look.

CHICK

Recently formed duo, CHICK, are a talented couple putting a healthy spin on traditional pop/rock while spreading the message of love and positivity. CHICK - an amalgamation of the two founding members' name, Chelsy and Rick - recently wed and as an ode to each other have created the original album '1X'.
