The Space is an integration of psychological and somatic therapeutic approaches led by clinical psychologist, Dr. Claire Groves, DPysch, and somatic therapist, herbalist, & astrologer, Nawa Sybico. This weekly support group engages our inherent capacity for neuroplasticity by providing a communal space to practice our natural ability for self-regulation and co-regulation. This group is open to the general public.

Every Thursday in May-June at 6 pm AEST

This support group was developed to help address the rising rates of mental health issues seen during these unprecedented times of crisis. The space is designed to create a field of connection and support as well as provide psychological and somatic skills. This approach seeks to maximise and redirect our own capacity for healing by tuning into the intelligence of our bodies, the power of human connection, and the creative possibilities of different perspectives.

These 2 months, we will be:

  • Exploring a holistic approach to treating anxiety, stress, & depression such as cognitive and body-based approaches
  • Learning weekly grounding, centering, or energising practices for addressing anxiety
  • Building a field of support and community in times of disconnection and stress
  • Creating your own self-care toolkit
  • Linking experiential practices to psycho-education and neurobiological developments

Facilitated by Dr. Claire Groves and Nawa Sybico. Claire has been running therapeutic support groups for over 15 years and Nawa has 6 years of group facilitation experience. Claire and Nawa have taken an integrative approach with evidence-based interventions, synthesising emerging research on neuroscience, attachment, and social sciences.

These sessions cost $80/session. If eligible, Medicare rebates of $32.90 for each attended session can be accessed via a mental health care plan under "group therapy" from your GP.

Maximum of 10 Participants. Places limited.

Please bring a journal, texters/pens, something living (plant or fruit), and any objects that feel supportive (fidget toys, blankets, altar items).

It is recommended to have a private space that allows you to move freely.

Thursdays, 12th, 19th, 26th May, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd. 30th June at 6pm AEST.
