Event description

Join Tsunamii and Friends for a night of soul stirring music!

Aided by guest artists Ty La Moonchild and Duncan Thomas- let the music take you on a sound journey to the inner sanctum of soul, where the vibes HIGH and you will be embraced by the spirit of movement for a night to remember.

About the Artists:

Ty La Moonchild

An intuitive Nu soul singer, guitarist, improv freestyler, multi-disciplinary artist & visionary (among other things) Ty La Moonchild brings hearty, silky performances. Expect passion, emotion & powerful vocals that reach the soul in an effortless way. A big girl with a big voice & spirit to match.

This is a voice that leaves an impact on you. She'll be likely to play originals, a cover or two and some improv!

Duncan Thomas

A multi-instrumental improvisation artist who creates soundscapes and compositions that draw inspiration from classical and bush folk music.

The result can be best described as ambient dark folk music. A style that is intended to weave stories & folklore, building tension & release. Sounds that reverberate in loops and echoes lingering for a moment in a liminal space. The compositions are reflective and meditative. Duncan draws inspiration from different traditional styles of playing including Gaelic, Afro-Cuban, Spanish and Indian music woven together. In a vision to unite different world sounds together with ongoing collaborative artists. Moving from different genres with co-creating special guests. No show is the same but the rhythms still remain.

The Spirit Sounds

Tsunamii is a wordsmith, a siren, and alarm bell all at once. They sing with the knowledge that their words are a direct line to/from their creators, ancestors and spirit team, and are hell bent on collective liberation. As an affront to the colony, a challenge to white supremacist culture, Tsunamii sings with the intention to be not only heard, but FELT deep in the hearts and psyche of those truly listening. Their songs serve as collective prayers for all of us to embrace our freedom, our personal source of power, and run towards our dreams with equally unapologetic ferocity.

Though inspired in lyricism by American artists India Arie, and Jason Mraz, the Spirit Sounds is nothing if not original, with simplistic melodies creating a foundation for complexity coming from their freestyle flow.

What’s this all about?

This event is doubling as fundraiser to support Tsunamii in their mission to safely depart from Australia and continue their journey elsewhere-

Their Message?

To open your mind, heart, spirit to seemingly impossible change, allow yourself to receive exceeding and abundantly the love and support you need, starting from within, speak boldly about what is hurting you and allow yourself to be seen in vulnerability, speak life into your desires by playfully creating alongside people with the capacity to hold you.

With these words, Tsunamii aims to:

- guide us into rebellion with songs reminding us of our agency, to live in bold vibrant colour, and to speak unapologetically in truth.

- inspire a collective dream of internally lead freedom, an endless supply of unconditional love, of the fearless embrace of inevitable change and the joyful commandment of the endless now.

- remind us all of our power to be, to see, to dream everything we’ve ever wanted into this reality.

To Put it Simply,

Tsunamii Says:
