Festival Opening Night – Celebrating the Spirit of Fishery Bay

Join us as we open The Stoke Festival with a powerful evening of film, connection, and celebration — honouring the cultural and surf legacy of Fishery Bay.
This is more than an opening night — it’s a shared moment in time, a weaving of community past, present and future through story, surf, and songlines.
Screening: Fishery Bay Surfing Reserve Documentary – Series One
Feature Film: Belinda – a stunning portrait of Patagonia ambassador Belinda Baggs and her devotion to surf and sea
Q&A with Belinda Baggs, following the screening
Slideshow: Reflections of Place & People – a visual love letter to local coastlines and kin
Opening address to welcome the community and set the tone for a weekend of waves, wellness and wonder
Meet & greet with surf families, storytellers and community contributors
Grazing Table & a few other yummies will be available for community to share and enjoy!
This will be a beautiful, grounded, and celebratory space — full of pride, nostalgia, and vision for the future of our coast.
The bar will be open, the atmosphere will be warm, and all are welcome.
