The Studio Program: Saturday Session
Description
Painting + Drawing
A full day of studio time — a chance to slow down, get absorbed in a project and give your creative practice some uninterrupted attention.
The Studio Program offers a calm, thoughtful environment where you can experiment, explore ideas and develop your own creative direction.
Bring a project you're already into, reference material, or start something new.
Sessions are built around individual practice, not a shared exercise. Starting with some warm-up drawing, the day is structured around the room, with individual guidance and practical studio-based exercises along the way.
Guided by Kate Coyne — National Art School-trained (MFA Painting) — you'll develop confidence with colour, materials and composition while exploring contemporary and traditional approaches to drawing and painting.
The emphasis is on experimentation, observation, visual thinking and expressive mark-making.
No two people need to be doing the same thing. The aim is to help you explore what interests you, experiment with materials and develop a creative practice that's genuinely your own.
Suitable for beginners, returning artists and experienced makers alike.
Booking is essential. Book early to guarantee a place.
Places are limited to 10 participants per session.

About us
The Studio Program is presented in association with Clifton School of Arts, a home for the arts, learning and community in the Northern Illawarra since 1880. Our workshops support their fundraising efforts.
This association matters to us. CSA is one of the region's most significant cultural organisations, managed entirely by volunteers and sustained by the generosity of its members and supporters. The Studio Program is proud to contribute to that community — bringing a new generation of participants through its doors and supporting the ongoing life of a place that has always believed in the importance of creativity.
