    Event description

"The Taming of the Shrew" is a classic Shakespearean comedy that tells the story of a wealthy gentleman named Petruchio who attempts to "tame" the strong-willed and outspoken Katherine, known as the "shrew." Set in 16th century Italy, the play explores themes of gender roles, power dynamics, and social class.

Petruchio takes on the challenge of wooing and marrying Katherine, hoping to mould her into the obedient and submissive wife he desires. Through a series of comical and sometimes cruel tactics, Petruchio attempts to break Katherine's spirit and make her conform to societal expectations of a wife.

A timeless piece that explores social issues in a comedic way.... and a performance not to be missed by our talented SCOTS PGC students!
