The Tinsel Trail - Proudly Presented by The Kristen Gould Collective from New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty
Celebrate the season of giving with a festive outing, all in support of Kidney Kids NZ - the only national charity dedicated to supporting tamariki and their whānau on their journey with kidney disease.
Follow a curated Christmas trail through six beautifully decorated homes across Tamahere, Hamilton and Matangi, along with a special stop at The Sunday Society. Each location features its own uniquely styled space, from elegant living rooms to magical garden features - for a festive day out with friends and family, all for a great cause!
Your ticket includes:

Planning on attending as a group? We recommend booking your tickets together in a single transaction, as guests are allocated different starting locations and routes to help manage traffic along the trail. Separate bookings can’t be guaranteed to be grouped together. We’ll confirm your assigned route when the addresses are released closer to the event.
Important to know:
For safety reasons, this event is strictly 16+.
Venues may involve uneven ground, steps, and walking from parking areas. This event may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, and we're unable to provide additional accessibility support.
No refunds will be given if you're unable to attend, but you're welcome to pass your ticket on to someone else.

- What is The Tinsel Trail?
The Tinsel Trail is a brand-new festive day out in support of Kidney Kids NZ. Follow a curated Christmas trail through seven beautifully decorated locations throughout the Waikato, with each stop showcasing a specially styled space.
- Where is The Tinsel Trail?
The Tinsel Trail takes place across Tamahere, Hamilton and Matangi. Exact addresses will be released exclusively to ticket holders closer to the event.
- Can I bring my baby/child, even if my baby/child is in a front pack or pram?
For safety reasons, no babies or children under the age of 16 will be admitted under any circumstances, including babies in front packs or push chairs.
- Are the venues accessible?
Many Tinsel Trail venues may involve walking from parking areas, as well as uneven ground, steps, and limited access. This event may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, and we're unable to offer additional accessibility support or special access arrangements.
- When will I receive the addresses?
Addresses and important event information will be sent to ticket holders closer to the event. Keep an eye on your email for these details.
- What does my ticket include?
Your ticket includes access to all seven Tinsel Trail locations, a goodie bag on entry, opportunities for nibbles and refreshments along the trail, and access to exclusive raffles supporting Kidney Kids NZ.
- Will I be touring the entire home at each location?
The trail showcases a specially styled space at each location, rather than providing access to the entire home.
- How do I know where to start?
To help manage traffic and make the day run smoothly, guests will be allocated a starting location and route. Your route details and addresses will be provided closer to the event.
- Will I need a car to drive between each venue?
Yes. Venues are spread across different locations, so you'll need to drive (or arrange transport) between each stop on your route.
- Is parking available at each location?
Parking is available at each venue, though arrangements will vary by location and may include a short walk from your car - this event is not suitable for those with limited mobility, and we're unable to provide additional accessibility support or special access arrangements. Where possible, we encourage guests to carpool to help reduce traffic and minimise the impact on local residents. Please be respectful of residents and neighbours, and follow any parking instructions provided with your event information closer to the time.
- Do I need to take my shoes off at each venue?
Yes. Shoes must be removed before entering each venue and can be carried in the goodie bag provided. We recommend wearing shoes that are easy to slip on and off, and practical for walking in.
- Where does the money raised go?
All funds raised through The Tinsel Trail will support Kidney Kids NZ, helping provide support and services to tamariki and their whānau living with kidney disease. For more information about Kidney Kids NZ, please visit kidneykids.org.nz
- I’m no longer able to attend the Holly Trail - can I get a refund?
No, if the ticket holder is unable to attend the event for any reason, no refunds will be given. You are welcome to pass your ticket on to someone else.
