The transformation of the River Torrens: fish, flows & habitat
Event description
This is a live online webinar
When you think of the River Torrens / Karrawirra Pari, do you picture a thriving, healthy ecosystem - or do you recall the days of it struggling after decades of pollution and land clearing?
Join this live webinar to discover (and celebrate!) the incredible transformation made possible thanks to partnerships, science, and community action, restoring the river into a vibrant waterway once again.
What’s included:
From then to now – how the river has changed over time, and what those changes mean for its health.
Restoration in action – an overview of key projects, including River Torrens Recovery, Gross Pollutant Trap management, Breakout Creek, and environmental water provisions.
Freshwater native fish – why they’re vital for ecosystem health, why so many are at risk, and the conservation work underway to protect them.

How you can help – simple, practical ways for individuals and communities to care for the Torrens into the future.
