TEDxUniMelb’s 2026 Annual Conference, “The Unseen Hirozon - What Are We Missing?” explores the ideas, assumptions and perspectives that are often overlooked when we remain within the boundaries of our own disciplines.

We often separate science from policy, business from psychology, technology from society, and research from everyday life. Yet many of the most important questions facing us today cannot be understood through only one perspective.

Through a series of short TED-style talks, speakers from diverse academic and professional backgrounds will each approach one central question:

What are we missing?

Each speaker will explore an idea, assumption, problem or perspective that they believe deserves greater attention within their own field, encouraging audiences to reconsider familiar ways of thinking and look beyond their usual areas of knowledge.
