Event description

Welcome to The Unspoken of Contact Improvisation

Join us for a unique event where we explore the depths of Contact Improvisation in a way that goes beyond words and also naming those words (maybe for the very first time?!).

What to expect: Prepare to connect with others through movement, touch, verbal, and non-verbal communication. This event is perfect for both beginners and experienced dancers looking to deepen their practice, however, basic contact improvisation skills are helpful and important to enjoy this workshop at its best. (If you are not sure contact us via email or call)

This workshop is for you if:
-You have just started your contact improvisation journey, you feel like a beginner or you've been dancing for a few years now, and you know that there is still something that is holding you back from having dances full of flow, connection and that leave you with a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction.
-You want to learn how to enter a dance gracefully and with confidence.
- You want to understand the many ways of leading and you want to explore how to follow without losing yourself in a dance
-You want to feel connected during the dance, to yourself and your dance partner
-You want to learn, practice, explore and clarify your YES's and NO's so that you feel at peace to live a dance without feeling "bad".

Why you and why now: If you have not felt confident enough, and you know you have some fear around connection, not feeling strong enough, maybe too small or too big and it's hard for you to feel in the flow. This might sound like a big statement, however, all of this will be practiced, explored, and also named in this workshop, you will be able to name those things holding you back and dance/practice and explore so they are in the awareness of the group and yourself, and so they start to be out of your way and see what's possible with them and without them.

When: Saturday 28th of September 2024 from 2 to 6 pm.

Where: This workshop will take place at the Anglican Parish of Mullumbimby, providing a serene and welcoming space for our exploration.

How much: $85 concession $95 full

Come with an open mind and a willingness to explore the unspoken language of Contact Improvisation. We can't wait to move, connect, and create with you!
