The Upper Room - October 2026

Join us back at The Upper Room this October!

This month we're trying something a little different with a special edition we're calling SPICY ONES: Spicy Questions & Even Spicier Wings.

Inspired by the popular Hot Ones interview format, the evening will feature Fr Mark Bond in the hot seat as he joins Sam Brebner for a live interview unlike any we've hosted before. Over the course of ten chicken wings, each paired with an increasingly fiery hot sauce, Sam will guide Fr Mark through ten "spicy questions" covering faith, morals, life, and more!

As the heat ramps up, so too does the challenge. Expect honest conversation, unexpected insights, plenty of laughs, and perhaps a little controlled suffering.

To make things even more interesting, audience members will have the opportunity to join the experience. Samples of each sauce will be available at your tables for those brave enough to participate, and yes, there will be milk on hand for emergencies.

MC'd by Bridgette Carne, this promises to be one of the most entertaining and memorable Upper Rooms yet.

The Upper Room is your space to grab a drink, connect with other Catholic young adults, and explore real-life topics that don't usually make it into your Sunday homily.

And yes, your ticket includes food too!

If you're a young adult in Auckland (or young at heart), join us for an unforgettable evening of fellowship, formation, and fiery conversation!

Parking is available up the ramp behind the building and will be covered for attendees.

Event is 18 years and over. 🌶️🔥🍗
