Event description
The Vastness of Grief
An experiential overview of the Gates of Grief and how they show up in our lives.
This is an exploratory and experiential class where we’ll begin to unpack Francis Weller’s 5 Gates of Grief from The Wild Edge of Sorrow.
In this class we will also look at the 6th Gate: The harms we have caused.
This is an opportunity to explore the multitude of ways grief shows up outside of grief that we have been taught is ‘acceptable.’
Together we will begin to unfurl our understanding of grief from personal to collective.
In this class, we’ll explore…
~ Francis Weller’s 5 Gates of Grief that move from the personal to collective
~ the newly added 6th gate of grief to take a more in depth look at the harms we’ve caused and how we can take accountability
~ what it looks like when we ignore these expressions of grief
~ what it means to keep the heart warm and stay connected
~ how to tend to grief ~ ours and our communities ~ through the lens of the gates.
