The Velvet Glove Plays the Songs of The Velvet Underground

The Velvet Glove returns following last January’s breakout show to revisit the heart of the Velvet Underground’s gritty urban realism, bridging the Velvet’s bright jangly chaos and Lou Reed’s lyric beauty.

The Glove reunites three musicians from early 70s Dunedin Band Cripple - bass player John Dodd (Midge Marsden, The Chaps, Skin and Bone), sax player Chris Nichol (The Dunstan Rangers, The Zimmermans) and Lindsay Gregory (The Dunstan Rangers, Heaven Bent Choir) on keyboards. They’re joined by drummer Sean Barker (Wooden Box Band, The Zimmermans) and guitarist Bill Nichol (Baby, Pegasus) for another walk on the wild side.
