The Watershed: Rehearsed Play Reading
Description
The Watershed is a triptych of short plays by Ukrainian-New Zealand playwright Nataliya Oryshchuk, exploring the lives of Ukrainian women in Aotearoa as they experience the war in Ukraine from afar.
Featuring professional actors and directed by the author, this rehearsed public reading includes The Green Holidays, winner of the 2026 Playwrights Association of New Zealand competition.
Commemorating the fifth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the reading offers a space to remember, reflect and bear witness to the ongoing realities of war and displacement, while celebrating the stories of Ukrainian women migrants in Aotearoa.
Presented by independent theatre company NO Productions Theatre at Te Whare Waiutuutu Kate Sheppard House, the event brings these stories to a place deeply connected with women’s voices, history and social change.
