The Whiskey Smash
Event description
The Whiskey Smash is back and bigger than ever! This annual celebration of Pennsylvania rye whiskey welcomes
distilleries from across the state to West Overton Village. All distilleries will be set up in the Museum, the
former 1859 distillery site, providing samples, knowledge about their brands, and selling products.
Along with the whiskey, enjoy a meal from Mission BBQ, our signature Whiskey Smash cocktail, and live music. Also
enter for a chance to win a collection of whiskeys from participating distilleries!
This year, the Whiskey Smash will expand to include the new James B. Beam Pennsylvania Whiskey Heritage Center, a
fully renovated and redesigned floor of our Museum that honors the past, present and future of Pennsylvania
whiskey. Browse the largest publicly accessible collection of Pennsylvania whiskey artifacts in the Sam Komlenic
Gallery, which includes 270+ historic whiskey bottles. Enjoy a cocktail in the Overholt Stateroom, the
vintage-inspired lounge that pays homage to the origins of Overholt™ whiskey at West Overton.
Overholt™ is recognized by whiskey historians as the longest standing American whiskey brand with an unbroken chain of
ownership, production and sale since Abraham Overholt began distilling at West Overton in 1810. While the brand is
produced today by James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky, West Overton is proud to be the “spiritual
home” of Overholt™.
The Whiskey Smash benefits the nonprofit mission of West Overton Village. Our historic site, museum, and educational
distillery invite visitors to discover the heritage of whiskey production at West Overton and across Pennsylvania.
