The Wild Space Pirates of Copernicus [Lancer]

2978 - Milky Way Galaxy - Sol System - Terra

In the semi-distant human future mankind will find themselves voyaging amongst the stars to interface with a universe far greater than their tiny planet. After discovering a form of energy capable of sustaining and propelling a vessel to near light-speed, humanity would encounter an intergalactic union of intellectual sapient lifeforms who would act as their guide to the vast universe. Within just a few years, the human race became an integral part of the commerce and culture of the Atlas Space Federation.

While Terra would eventually become more of a historical ground representing the origin and genesis of humanity, much of the planet’s original populace found themselves migrating en masse to similarly climated planetary systems. Here humans did what they do best - everything. From alien agriculture to intergalactic data analysis man found a home in the farthest reaches of the galaxy doing anything and everything.

One of the many careers of which man has adopted is space-piracy. The enormous transport of cargo between any number of businesses, factions, and governmental bodies leaves plenty of room for things to go… missing. Much of that is to do with Space Piracy. While this form of theft can appear as any number of formats- the human-led Pirates of Copernicus prefer to do it with the use of Exo-Machines.

Exo-Machines are large power-tools (or weapons depending on who asks) which are piloted by a single operator for any number of purposes. While many are used commercially, the Pirates of Copernicus use them as devices of larceny. By attacking cargo and transit vessels with Exo-machines, the Pirates are able to do far more than they could do without - all while obfusicating their identity.

The most recent marker of the group is on a transit vessel leaving from Terra later this lunar cycle. The selected members of the Pirates of Copernicus must do the necessary scouting and research, retrieval, and getaway with whatever is being smuggled out of Terra.
