Event description

Follow the timeless journey of Dorothy, a young girl from Kansas who is swept away by a tornado to the magical Land of Oz. As she searches for a way home, she meets a colorful cast of characters including the Scarecrow, who longs for a brain, the Tin Man, who wishes for a heart, and the Cowardly Lion, who dreams of courage. Together, they travel the Yellow Brick Road to seek help from the mysterious Wizard of Oz.

Along the way, they face challenges from the Wicked Witch of the West and learn valuable lessons about friendship, self-belief, and the power of home. Filled with iconic songs like “Over the Rainbow,” “If I Only Had a Brain,” and “We’re Off to See the Wizard,” this musical adaptation captures the heart and magic of the classic story in a format perfect for a younger cast and audience.

Wesley College's Glen Waverley campus boasts a vibrant and comprehensive theatre program that plays a central role in the school's co-curricular offerings. Recent performances have included well-known musicals such as Les Misérables, Annie, and The Sound of Music.

Beyond local performances, the Glen Waverley theatre program has an international dimension, with students having participated in tours to countries including New Zealand, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, Canada, the United States, England, Ireland, France, Italy, and Germany since 1987 . This global exposure underscores the program's commitment to providing students with diverse and enriching theatrical experiences.
