The Workforce of the Future | Global Trends & Inclusive Hiring

Event description

The war for talent is on the rise – with business now realising human capital is its greatest asset, and demand increasing for a new and specialised range of skills, to meet modern challenges.

So, how are organisations responding? What methods are they using to find, retain and motivate their staff? And how can they approach recruitment differently, to create more inclusive, rewarding and productive workplaces, which benefit people and business alike?

Join us, as we explore this topic, under the theme The Workforce of the Future. Nicole Trimble, founder and former Managing Director of US-based organisation Talent Rewire, will set the scene with a global outlook, including how organisations are:

  • Shifting towards skills-based hiring, over education
  • Looking for ‘hidden workers’ to expand their talent pool (eg. marginalised communities, women returning to the workforce)
  • Embracing the gig economy, to gain access to expertise when they need it
  • Avoiding the Great Resignation, by offering employee advancement
  • Beginning to see the pitfalls of AI in applicant systems, which can jeopardise inclusion

We’ll then hear from Jobsbank, who have just launched the Inclusion Hub, a platform which matches employers with candidates from disadvantaged cohorts, bringing supportive community organisations and employment agencies into the process in an Australian-first. The session with finish with a member-only Q&A with Nicole, Jobsbank CEO Corinne Proske and Jobsbank Digital & Innovation Manager Leigh Jones – who will provide insight into how this important initiative was born and created.

The Workforce of the Future webinars form part of the Shared Value Project's inaugural Speaker Series. The series will explore topical conversations related to purpose and business, leveraging the expertise within the shared value community. You can find a list of all our other events here
