The World We Share
Event description
Join the Sydney Children's Choir for a delightful afternoon of song in the beautiful surrounds of Mosman Art Gallery.
Russel Hepplewhite's The World We Share has a text by Seth Bockley developed in conversation with youth choirs from around the world. UK-based Hepplewhite has had ground-breaking operas commissioned by English Touring Opera, widely performed to critical acclaim across Europe. His new work will be premiered by a number of leading youth choirs across continents in 2025, and the Sydney Children's Choir present four works from this new cycle.
SCC's Matthew Doyle Choir also present a series of works inspired by the work of Ireland's The High Kings, folk-inspired songs full of joy and energy.
The Junior Performing Choir perform works from around the world that are close to their hearts, including upbeat Ghanaian song 'Obwisana', 'Something Told the Wild Geese' from the US's Sherri Porterfield, and 'Food Glorious Food' from the musical 'Oliver.'
