The Writing Clinic (August 2027)

Writing is often easier when you have dedicated time, a supportive environment and someone nearby to help you work through the difficult bits. This full-day, 2-day in-person clinic is designed to give you all three. 

Bring a piece of writing you want to progress and spend the day working at your own pace. Professor Inger Mewburn will be available to answer questions about academic writing, while other members of the ANU Researcher Development team can offer guidance on related areas such as presentations, career planning and communicating your research. You can seek help when you need it, then return to your work with a clearer sense of what to do next. 

The clinic is not another workshop with a fixed program. It is structured writing time with expert support on hand, opportunities to talk through problems and space to apply what you have learned across the writing series.

The Writing Clinic is an invitation-only program, available to HDR candidates who have completed one of our writing boot camps or attended the Academic Writing Series. It's designed as the next step in your writing journey, providing ongoing support, accountability, and a community of researchers committed to making steady progress.

Light morning and afternoon tea will be provided.
