The Writing Life - with Bonny Cassidy

In May, The Writing Life will host Bonny Cassidy, the author of three outstanding books of poetry and a stunning new non-fiction book Monument (Giramondo, 2024) that has been shortlisted for the Queensland Literary Awards and Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. 

After 15 years as an academic and researcher in Creative Writing and Australian Literature, Bonny now studies Psychology and is establishing a business combining psychotherapy and writing retreats. She lives in the forest on Dja Dja Wurrung country. For more see bonnycassidy.com.

The Writing Life series is an invitation to a writer to explore the role of writing in their life, perhaps riffing on particular aspects, joys and challenges. This is the second in the series. Local writing treasure Carmel Bird, kicked us off beautifully in March 2025.
