The Yarns Men, supported by Hope Upstream Charitable Trust hosts a Christchurch based men only monthly meetup.
This is an opportunity for men from all walks of life to hear an inspirational guest speaker, get tips for managing your own mental health and supporting others, and have a yarn over some food.
Our April guest speaker is Conrad Goodhew. Conrad founded Conrad Goodhew Nutrition and is a performance dietitian with Crusaders & Canterbury Rugby. He has helped some of the country's top rugby talent and everyday people with their diet goals.Â
Conrad believes that nutrition plays a massive role in mental health and will share some tips on the night.
Tickets are $22.50 to cover the cost of a Taco and Beer (low, non-alc, cider or 2 soft drinks if preferred).
What to expect with The Yarns Men event:
- To run for approximately 1.5 hours
- Taco from the Food Dude (who runs the food truck at Two Thumb Manchester Street)
- Hear Conrad's story and nutrition tips
- Key takeaways on how to manage your own mental health, as well as how to support others
- The following questions will be posed to the group, and breakout into pairs to discuss:
- What have you struggled with in the last week?
- What’s something you want to work on next week?
- What are you proud of?
- What gives you hope?
