    Senior writer at The Spinoff Anna Rawhiti-Connell will take a running jump backwards into year’s biggest headlines, political dramas, and some of the best Spinoff yarns. Anna will be joined onstage by Wellington editor Joel MacManus, special guests, and Christmas cheer.

    It's been a big year. Anna and Joel are ready to look back and make sense of 2024, with the help of guests ready to offer their unique perspectives on politics, culture, media and more.

    This will be a live recording of Behind the Story, a podcast that takes you backstage on the workings of The Spinoff.

    Anna Rawhiti-Connell is head of audience and a senior writer at The Spinoff, and was editor of The Bulletin, The Spinoff's morning news round-up for two years. Anna won best general columnist at the 2021 Voyager Media Awards and has contributed to North and South, Radio New Zealand and Newsroom as a columnist, opinion and feature writer.

    Joel MacManus is the Wellington Editor of The Spinoff and writes the Wellington issues column, Windbag. Joel won Junior Feature Writer of the Year at the 2020 Voyager Media Awards. He has worked as a journalist and producer at RNZ, Stuff, and as the editor of Critic Te Ārohi.
