• What is The Curve Ball?

  It's a dance party, a celebration of curvy bodies and fashion. It's an excuse to get dressed up in your most glam outfit and strut your stuff on the red carpet. It's a night to dance to empowering and nostalgic tunes with your besties. It's a chance to exist in a room full of curvy bodies. It's a way to find and connect with your community. It's a night of fun!

• What should I wear?

  The dress code is Runway Ready - you are invited to come dressed in your most fashion-forward look. Sequins, colour, drama, joy. This is YOUR moment on the carpet. You're also encouraged to wear or bring along shoes comfy enough to party all night! There will be a cloak room if you need to stash your heels / coats.

• Can I bring my friends / partner / mum?

  Of course! Everybody is welcome in this inclusive space. The Curve Ball invite extends to people of all genders, ages (18+) and sizes. It's a celebration of curves but you don't have to identify as "plus size" to attend. So yes, gather your tribe, dress up your significant other, call your fun auntie. Bring the people you want to party with and never get the chance!

• Can I come alone?

  Absolutely! This is an inclusive and welcoming space - trust us, you will find your new besties! There's entertainment throughout the night, plus food and drinks, a dance floor, somewhere to sit... you won't be bored and you won't be alone. You can also be dropped off and picked up right at the door so you won't be walking around on your own before or after the event.

• Do I have to be plus-size to attend?

  Not at all! We welcome all people who want to join the party! We will be celebrating and honouring curvy bodies and we'd love to see as many people as possible show up to do that.

• Will there be food and drinks?

  Yes! There will be a grazing table with substantial delicious canapés. Dietary requirements will be catered for (let us know your needs when you purchase your tickets). A complimentary welcome cocktail / mocktail will be served on arrival. Additional beverages can be purchased at the bar.

• I'm from out of town, is there somewhere nearby I can stay?

  Yes! We’ve secured special discounted rates for Curve Ball guests at Hyatt House South Melbourne located at 30 Palmerston Crescent, South Melbourne. We will provide attendees with the link to access the discounted rate.

• What's the Accessibility situation?

  Roxy’s is wheelchair accessible.The Curve Ball is not a seated event, but plenty of sturdy seating will be available around the venue for when you need breaks. • Is this part of Melbourne Fashion Week?

  No, The Curve Ball is an independently produced event and is not affiliated with Melbourne Fashion Week. It is being held during Melbourne Fashion Week, which runs from 19-25 October 2026. We’re creating our own space within the excitement of fashion week - one where curvy and plus-size people are centred, celebrated and represented.
