Commitment - What happens when your midfield doesn't show up?
Event description
It's Saturday afternoon and with 5 minutes to go you realise that your soccer (I hate writing that, it's football right!) 4 4 2 formation isn't going to work because the 4 midfield players are no shows. What happens next...............?
Commitment has always been one of the most important fundamentals at The Men's Table, we suspect it goes something like this.
- Confidentiality - without that safe place, there is no Men's Table
- No Fixing - nobody needs unsolicited advice
- Commitment - commit to yourself, the Fundamentals and to your Table.
We live in a world where it is so easy to dip in and out of something. "I just need to watch that episode of Peaky Blinders, it's raining and, well look I've had a big day at work. I think I'll just give my Table a miss tonight". It's easy to do right.
But what happens to the Table when men don't regularly show up with out sending a text, an email or making a phone call to say "Sorry, I can't come to the Table I've got my favourite Aunt, Aunty Joan coming over from Perth and we having a family do for her"
Commitment to regularly show up at a Table is important for the health of the Table. Nobody benefits from irregular attendance. The man who irregularly attends will not get the full benefit, other men at the Table will feel let down by this man and will not get their stories fully heard.
So we urge you to come along as Ben Hughes, co-founder and Guy Ellis of MT17 commit to guiding you through a 90 minute session on commitment, what it means and how to strengthen or maintain it at your Table
So, back to the original point..........if half the team doesn't show up, well it does not work out well. I should know, I support a team where the whole team apparently never turns up.
On a serious note we hope you can commit to turning up to this valuable session.

Guy Ellis - MT17
